Serbian Prime Minister Duro Macut Friday said that during a summit of Western Balkans leaders in Tirana, he had pushed for the opening of Cluster 3 and other chapters of Serbia’s EU accession process, which have been stalled for more than three years, the Tanjug agency reported.
"I believe Serbia is on the right track, and that we have met a high percentage of the European Union’s requirements," Macut said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the summit’s main topics focused on the economy and regional connectivity.
"We had the opportunity to discuss issues previously raised at the London summit, including the free-roaming zone for Western Balkan countries, which is extremely important. Since our region is excluded from the Schengen area, we are proposing a new methodology for calculating the transit time of trucks and lorries. We will present it to the European Commission together with the United Kingdom as soon as possible," he added.
He described his participation in Friday's summit in Tirana as highly productive and constructive.
