site.btaSofia's Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Celebrates 90th Anniversary

Sofia, November 23 (BTA) - Sofia's Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevski celebrated its 90th anniversary.  A prayer service was held by Patriarch Neofit of Bulgaria (in the centre of photo) and high clergy of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The liturgy was attended by Parliament leader Tsetska Tsacheva, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and MPs. The celebration was held less than two months after the government granted ownership over the cathedral to the Church. The ownership of the church, built in 1912, has been unclear for years, due to the lack of a title deed.
