site.btaPolice Investigate Bomb Threats at Schools in Several Bulgarian Cities
The Interior Ministry told BTA that police had investigated bomb threats at schools in several cities across the country on Tuesday.
Reports of planted explosive devices were sent to email addresses of schools in Plovdiv, Varna, Kardzhali, Karlovo, Asenovgrad, Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil and Razgrad. School principals acted according to instructions and reported the threat to 112, after which police officers were sent to all schools on site to evacuate the students. After precise checks were carried out and no dangerous objects were found, the classes were resumed.
The emails were sent to old addresses that should no longer be used, authorities specified. They noted that every school has email addresses to a protected domain and should only use those.
