The Student Film Festival of Slavic Countries, organized by Art Horizon Foundation, took place at the Wisla cinema in Warsaw from June 5-7. The event featured short films by young artists, Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Warsaw Director Petar Lyanguzov told BTA.

The initiative aims to encourage dialogue and cooperation between young people in the arts and to promote the rich cultural diversity of Slavic nations through cinema. The first edition featured films from Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and Czechia.

"Working with young people is of particular importance to us. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Students' Science Club at the Institute of Western and Southern Slavic Studies of the University of Warsaw, the Czech Centre in Warsaw and the Embassy of Croatia. The common goal is to encourage the youngest in art and to help develop cultural cooperation between Slavic countries," the Bulgarian Institute team said.

On June 6, the audience watched the Bulgarian film The Revolt of the Suit directed and written by Kristina Hristova - an office comedy about the everyday challenges young people face. The movie was also presented at Marche du Film - Festival de Cannes.

"The Student Film Festival of Slavic Countries shows that young artists are true ambassadors of cultural dialogue, and that joint initiatives by Slavic countries create space for new ideas, creativity and future international partnerships," the Bulgarian Cultural Institute noted.
