1910: Tobacco workers in Varna (on Black Sea) go on strike.

1911: 5th Grand National Assembly is convened in Tarnovo (North Central Bulgaria), sits until July 9, 1911.

1923: Military coup d'etat staged by General Ivan Valkov's Military League topples Agrarian Party Government headed by Alexander Stamboliyski.

1948: Bulgaria joins World Health Organization.

1980: Diplomatic relations established with Grenada.

1999: National Assembly passes Bulgaria's first Public Procurement Act (superseded by new laws on this subject matter in 2004 and 2016).

2021: During target firing practice above Bulgarian territorial waters off Shabla, Bulgarian Air Force MiG-29 crashes into Black Sea at 00:45 local time, killing pilot, Major Valentin Terziev.
