BTA's LIK magazine for art and culture has put out a special issue dedicated to the Varna Summer International Theatre Festival. Speaking at an event in Varna where the new LIK was presented, BTA Director General Kiril Valchev said that the festival sets the trends for Bulgarian theatre.

BTA is a media partner of the festival.

Valchev said that with this special issue BTA fulfills its obligation to protect national traditions and culture. He recalled the words of Varna Summer artistic director and renowned Bulgarian actress Tsvetana Maneva that "theatres are a magical space where you can enter, leave everything at the entrance and give yourself peacefully to this movement of thoughts and feelings that will make you happier and more confident in yourself, no matter what is going on outside".

LIK’s next edition will be devoted to actors Nevena Kokanova and Stefan Danailov, said LIK Editor-in-Chief Georgi Lozanov. It will be presented on September 28 at the Festival and Congress Centre in Varna, ahead of the Golden Rose Festival closing ceremony.

"BTA aims to present theatre alongside political and other issues from the day's agenda, as they are to a great extent theater too; it is a stage where everyone pretends to be someone else," Lozanov added. He recalled that the re-launch of LIK magazine involves the use of BTA’s archive, which is one of the most extensive ones in the country. The goal of these magazines is to transcend certain events and figures in time, preserving their memory for future generations, he said. In his words, this is the advantage that paper has: to pass from hand to hand and to carry across generations the phenomena of Bulgarian culture.

By online conference, Varna Summer director Nikolai Yordanov expressed satisfaction with the fruitful cooperation with BTA.
