Bilyana Hristova from Canada is one of 20 women nominated for the Saint Zlata of Meglen Award in 2025, the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad (EABA) said. Hristova’s nomination was submitted by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church of St. John of Rila in Montreal.

Hristova is the founder of Viti Gaitani, the largest Bulgarian youth folk dance club in North America. "With passion, love and tireless dedication, she keeps Bulgarian traditions alive," the EABA team said.

In October, the EABA will present its annual Bulgarian Woman of the Year – Saint Zlata of Meglen Award. Twenty nominations have been received from 11 countries. BTA will present the nominees in a series of articles.
