Bulgarian Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov sent a congratulatory letter to his new Japanese counterpart Sanae Takaichi on the occasion of her election to the post, the Cabinet's press centre said here on Thursday. "Bulgaria attaches priority importance to the development of relations and cooperation with Japan, based on mutual respect, friendly ties and shared values," the letter reads.

"I am confident that the traditional friendship between our two countries will enable us to deepen our pragmatic cooperation and realize the full potential for joint work in all areas of mutual interest within the framework of the strategic partnership established this year," Zhelyazkov wrote.

In his letter, the Bulgarian Prime Minister conveys his highest esteem to Takaichi and wishes her success in her highly responsible mission.
