Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev held talks with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi during the Munich Leaders Meeting at the Munich Security Conference in Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Ministry's press center announced on Wednesday.

The meeting confirmed the active political dialogue between the two countries. Georgiev expressed his gratitude to his Jordanian colleague for Jordan's assistance in evacuating two Bulgarian citizens and an elderly Palestinian woman from the Gaza Strip on September 29 this year.

"Bulgaria highly values the open and constructive exchange with Jordan and is ready to work together for even stronger and mutually beneficial cooperation," Georgiev emphasized. In this context, the top diplomats of Bulgaria and Jordan discussed opportunities for deepening bilateral relations in the fields of economy, trade, as well as defense and security. "Bulgaria welcomes the opportunity to organize a business forum in Amman to strengthen contacts between the business communities in Bulgaria and Jordan and stimulate trade flows between the two countries."

The Bulgarian Foreign Minister and Safadi discussed the current developments in the Middle East. "Jordan is a key guarantor of stability in the region and Bulgaria supports its efforts for peace and security," Georgiev said.

Jordan's Foreign Minister invited his Bulgarian counterpart to pay a bilateral visit to Jordan this year and expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of bilateral relations: "Jordan values its friendship with Bulgaria and is ready to deepen our cooperation in all areas that contribute to the stability and prosperity of our peoples," he added.
