"Our transatlantic relationship remains a pillar of peace and prosperity," Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said in a congratulatory message to the President, the government, and the people of the United States on the occasion of Independence Day, the Council of Ministers announced on Facebook on Friday.

Bulgaria and the United States continue to deepen their strategic partnership from cooperation in defence and energy to innovation, education, and cultural exchange, the Prime Minister noted.

"We pay tribute to the enduring friendship between our nations and to our shared commitment to freedom, democracy, and global security," Zhelyazkov added.
