site.btaMEPs to Visit Social Facilities for Children and Families in Bulgaria
From to January 7 to 9, members of the European Parliament's Committee on Employment and Social Affairs will visit Bulgaria to learn about childcare and hold talks with representatives of the authorities and non-governmental organizations.
According to a statement from the parliamentary committee, the three MEPs in the delegation are Estelle Ceulemans (Socialists and Democrats, Belgium), Hristo Petrov (Renew Europe/Democratic Bulgaria) and Valerie Devaux (Renew Europe, France).
During their visit, the MEPs will attend meetings on changes to the childcare system and speak with UNICEF representatives. They will also visit social service facilities for children and families, as well as facilities for children with disabilities in Pazardjik and a temporary accommodation centre near Sofia for refugees and victims of human trafficking aged 14–18.
