The Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Interior are working together to prevent aggression among adolescents. This is what the Minister of Youth and Sports Ivan Peshev told the media in Batanovtsi about the youth groups known as the “locals”. In his words, they are “an extremely unpleasant phenomenon”, observed in recent months mainly in the country's larger cities and in the capital.

According to him, the problem is a result of the lack of occupation of the adolescent generation during their free time. Peshev stressed that the Ministries of Youth and Sports and of Education and Science are continuing their work on building youth centres in the country under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

“It is through these types of institutions that young people will be engaged in their free time and there will be prevention against addictions and violence,” the minister said. He pointed to the youth centre built last year in Pernik as a good example.
