site.btaBulgaria Records EU's Third-highest Growth in Production in Construction in August, M/M


Bulgaria's seasonally adjusted production in construction rose by 1.4% in August, compared to the previous month, show Eurostat data published here on Monday. This was the third-highest increase in the European Union (EU), only behind Sweden (+4.2%) and Czechia (+2.2%).
Among Member States for which data are available, the largest monthly decreases in production in construction were recorded in Romania (-26.2%), Hungary (-11.4%) and Poland (-4.0%).
In the EU, seasonally adjusted production in construction decreased by 0.9% compared to July and remained stable compared to August 2024.
Bulgaria was also one of the Member States with higher annual increase - 5.9%. The country had the fifth-highest rise after Slovenia (+25.2%), Czechia (+17.0%), Slovakia (+13.8%) and Belgium (+6.7%). The highest decreases were observed in Hungary (-13.6%), the Netherlands (-6.2%) and Poland (-4.9%).
Compared with July 2025, EU's production in construction remained stable for construction of buildings and for specialized construction activities, while it decreased by 2.5% for civil engineering. Compared to August 2024, it decreased by 3.0% for construction of buildings, increased by 1.0% for civil engineering and by 2.0% for specialized construction activities.
