site.btaFirst Annual Awards for Bulgarian Organic Producers Presented in Veliko Tarnovo
The 1st Annual Awards for Organic Producers of Bulgaria were presented during the first edition of the largest exhibition of certified Bulgarian organic producers in the country, which is on in Veliko Tarnovo from September 26 to 28.
The grand prize, Organic Producer of the Year, went to farmer Vladimir Dimitrov Kanev from Pavlikeni, who manages 250 beehives.
In the Organic Enterprise category, the award went to 100% Bio, a producer of juices, jams, and dried fruit. The award was accepted on behalf of the winner by Albena Simeonova, Chair of the Bulgarian Organic Products Association, who called on buyers of organic products from the retail network to look for the European logo for organic production.
The municipality with the most organic products in public kitchens was Svoge Municipality. The award was accepted by Deputy Mayor Nina Koprindzhiyska, who said that the award was a recognition of he efforts to include more organic products in the diets of children, pupils, and people in social services.
The award for Region with the Most Organic Producers went to Burgas Region with 396 registered operators and an impressive variety of organic products.
Natur BG, a producer of crunchy sticks and bars from Kazanlak, received the award for best organic marketing. It is a family business that has been operating for 13 years, exporting its products to eight countries, and the young family members are responsible for marketing.
Troyan Municipality received a special certificate for innovation in children's nutrition with organic products.
