Tourism Minister Miroslav Borshosh and Kyustendil Mayor Ognyan Atanasov discussed tourism development trends and challenges in the region, the Ministry said Monday. The discussion focused on launching new initiatives to promote the area’s diverse tourism potential.
Special attention was given to Kyustendil’s (Southwest Bulgaria) strengths in climatotherapy, balneology, and spa tourism, as the resort boasts 40 mineral springs with healing waters dating back 2,500 years, suitable for prevention and treatment of various chronic conditions.
The Minister emphasized that through coordinated efforts and enhanced promotion, the Municipality’s potential could be more effectively presented as a year-round destination for cultural, festival, balneological, spa, and climatotherapy tourism.
Borshosh assured that the Ministry will continue working in close cooperation with local authorities and businesses to support tourism promotion and development across Bulgaria’s regions, ensuring sustainable growth and full use of each municipality’s potential.
