The Industrial Production Index decreased by 1.7% in June 2025 compared to the previous month, according to preliminary and seasonally adjusted data published by the National Statistical Institute on Friday. In comparison with June 2024, the index showed a decline of 8.2%.
Monthly changes
In June 2025, compared to the previous month, electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply decreased by 5.2%, and manufacturing fell by 2.4%. In contrast, mining and quarrying increased by 16.9%.
More significant decline in the manufacturing was reported in the manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment - by 17.4%, in the other manufacturing - by 13.7%, and in the manufacture of other transport equipment - by 10.1%.
Production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations increased by 14.8%, while repair and installation of machinery and equipment grew by 13.9%.
Annual changes
Year-on-year, the Industrial Production Index decreased by 17.6% in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, and by 7.1% in manufacturing, while the mining and quarrying sector recorded a 27.5% increase.
In manufacturing, production dropped sharply compared to the same month last year: basic metals declined by 41.8%, textiles by 27.7%, and paper and paper products by 22.3%.
Manufacturing of tobacco products increased by 67.0%, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 14.9%, and other non-metallic mineral products by 13.9%.
