Deputy Prime Minister and Innovation and Growth Minister Tomislav Donchev Wednesday met with representatives of the Bulgarian Branch Chamber - Machine Building to discuss matters related to the development and resilience of Bulgaria's mechanical engineering, the Ministry said.

The discussion addressed the possibility of involving machine-building enterprises in projects aimed at developing the defence industry based on high-tech manufacturing. Emphasis was also placed on various incentives for the development of machine-building companies, such as financial support for research and development, a new mechanism for electricity price compensation, expansion of investments, and access to new markets.

Representatives of the Chamber expressed readiness to propose improvements in sector regulations, as well as stricter control over grey imports. The issue of promoting the activities of the Bulgarian machine-building industry was also raised.
