site.btaBulgarian SPA Tourism Presented at High-Level Forum in Beijing

The Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism (BUBSPA) Chair and Vice President of the European SPA Association, Siyka Katsarova, took part in the 2nd International Europe-China Forum, the Union said on Wednesday. The event took place from May 25 to 27 in Beijing and brought together over 3,000 high-level representatives from politics, business, and industry from China and Europe. This year’s edition focused on key sectors such as tourism, healthcare, and trade. 

Bulgarian health tourism was represented at a high level by a delegation including Katsarova, who is also a board member of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, BUBSPA Management Board member Dr. Mitko Vassilev, and BUBSPA Supervisory Board member Ivan Bilarev, owner and manager of Uva Nestum Wine & SPA and Therma Vitae.

Alongside the forum programme, Katsarova held a strategic meeting with the management of HISEAS, one of China’s largest outbound tour operators. The meeting is part of the European SPA Association’s ongoing efforts to promote European health tourism on the large and growing Chinese market.

During the talks, a specific action plan was discussed, aiming to significantly increase the number of specialized tourist packages for Chinese travelers. These packages will highlight Bulgaria’s unique offers in SPA, wine, and culture.
