Alcoment's majority owner Fikret Ince highlighted the company's key role in Bulgaria's industrial sector in an interview with the Bulgarian News Agency, published on Saturday. "Our contribution is measured not only in output and export volumes, but also in the creation of stable jobs, sustainable links with educational institutions and active support of the local community," he added.

Recently, Alcomet, which with its plant in Shumen is the largest Bulgarian manufacturer of aluminum rolling and pressing products, was awarded at the Bulgarian Investment Agency's competition Investor of the Year 2024 for its investment in business expansion.

“I believe that the success of a business only makes sense when it leads to the development of the people and the region in which it is located,” said Ince. He noted that currently Alcomet employs over 1,300 people in Shumen.

Ince pointed out that over the past two decades, Alcomet has invested more than BGN 310 million in modernisation, technological development and expansion of production capacity. "In 2024 alone, we invested more than BGN 30 million, which increased our production volume and created nearly 100 new jobs. We are currently implementing a new investment plan worth BGN 140 million with a horizon until 2026," he said.

The company's majority owner noted that last year Alcomet generated sales of EUR 268 million, with over 95% of production directed to foreign markets. He pointed out that this was the result of long-standing partnerships and trust built through high quality and flexibility.

"I believe that industry and education should go hand in hand. Our vision is that stable production is built with stable people," he said, adding that this requires long-term efforts and trust between business and the educational environment. "The shortage of qualified personnel, especially in engineering and technical specialties, is a real problem throughout the country. That is why in recent years we have developed various educational initiatives, from scholarships and internships to dual training and the reestablishment of specialised classes. We are actively working with vocational schools and universities, and our goal is to create real opportunities for young people even before they graduate," Ince stressed.
