site.btaLabour Ministry Launches Programmes to Support Start-Up Businesses, Young People


Minister of Labour and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov announced on Thursday the launch of two programmes for more than BGN 100 million, which will be dedicated to starting a business and to youth practices. The Minister spoke at the opening of a job fair and parade of professions organized in Sofia by the National Employment Agency to mark its 35th anniversary.
Gutsanov said: "Northern Bulgaria is unfortunately much further behind economically and starting today, we are launching a programme for BGN 60 million targeting start-up businesses, in which at least 1,000 entrepreneurs will be able to apply for up to BGN 50,000 and receive not only financial support but also logistical support."
The second programme is for BGN 46 million and is related to youth practices. The funds will be used to support young people who are studying or working their first job.
The goal of the two programmes is to boost the national economy while also lowering the unemployment rate.
