The overall consumer confidence indicator in April 2025 increased by 3.1 points compared to its January level (from -19.5% to -16.4%), the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
An improvement in consumer confidence was reported among both the urban and rural population, by 2.3 and 4.8 points, respectively.
Consumer opinions about the development of the general economic situation in the country over the past twelve months, as well as expectations for the next twelve months, are less negative compared to the previous observation.
Compared to January, there is also a decrease in pessimism in consumers' assessments of the changes that have occurred in the financial situation of their households over the past twelve months and in their expectations for the next twelve months.
Consumers continue to believe that consumer prices have risen over the past twelve months, but at a slower pace than the estimates recorded in the previous survey. At the same time, their inflation expectations for the next twelve months are less pronounced.
Regarding unemployment in the country, the forecasts envisage some reduction in personnel over the next twelve months, and according to the population in cities this will occur will be at a higher pace.
