A symposium for suppliers, organized by Westinghouse, will be held in Sofia on  Tuesday, the US company said. Westinghouse and Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) - New Capacities are working together on the strategic project for the construction of two new AP1000 reactors at the Kozloduy site.

One of the project's main objectives is localization, i.e. to carry out as many activities in Bulgaria as possible, thus creating a new wave of high quality local suppliers that will become the future backbone of the nuclear industry in Bulgaria and the European Union. To support this goal, Westinghouse is organising a supplier symposium in Sofia, the announcement said.

Invited to attend are Energy Minister Zhecho Stankov, US Embassy in Sofia Charge d'Affaires ad interim Susan Falatko, Budget and Finance Committee Chairman Delyan Dobrev, Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association Board Chairman Rumen Radev, Kozloduy NPP - New Capacities CEO Petyo Ivanov, and Oscar Pratt, Senior Director of Westinghouse's AP1000 project in Bulgaria.
