The thirteenth national seminar on intellectual property and new dimensions in art and science brought together researchers, educators and experts to discuss the role of intellectual property in the modern world. The forum was held Friday at the Ceremonial Hall of the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies (UniBIT) on the eve of World Intellectual Property Day, April 26, the Bulgarian Patent Office said.
The organizers of the scientific forum were UniBIT, in partnership with the Patent Office, the EU Intellectual Property Office, the University of Science and Technology "Neofit Rilski"- Blagoevgrad, and the Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" - Plovdiv. This was also the only event in Bulgaria which presented this country in the interactive map of the World Intellectual Property Organization, the release noted.
Experts from the Patent Office gave presentations on legal and economic aspects of the slogan as a company trademark, and on the new EU industrial design regulation and its dimensions at national level.
The forum had a special mission to bring science and practice closer together and to present how intellectual property affects the arts and business, the Patent Office said.
A Memorandum of Cooperation between the Patent Office and UniBIT was signed within the framework of the programme, in the spirit of the need for joint efforts between academic and government institutions to promote sustainable development and competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy.
