site.btaEmployment Rate Slightly Down in Bulgaria, Up in EU in Q3 of 2024
The employment rate in the European Union in the third quarter of 2024 was 75.9% of the working-age population (persons aged 20-64), an increase of 0.1% compared to the second quarter, according to the latest Eurostat data published on Friday. In the same period employment rate in Bulgaria went down by 0.2% to 76.7%.
The number of EU citizens registered on the labour market who did not find the job they wanted amounted to 10.9% of all people aged 20 to 64 in the third quarter.
Between the second and the third quarter of 2024, Malta (+1.4%), Romania (+0.6%) and Ireland, Italy and Cyprus (each +0.5%) registered the highest increases in the employment rate among the 10 EU countries where employment rose.
