On June 22, Sofia's Borisova Gradina Park will become a stage for world jazz art thanks to the 5th One Day Jazz Festival, the organizers said. "Our mission is not just to offer music, but to create an atmosphere of sharing, inspiration and dialogue through the art of jazz, with the aim of continuity and striving to build a sustainable platform for creative exchange," said the team.
The Festival's 5th edition will feature alumni of the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Music Academy and the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music in Sofia, the School for Singers D Stars and Music Factory in Sofia, the Dobri Hristov National School of Arts in Varna, and the Sava Dobroplodni Secondary School in Shumen. They will perform iconic jazz standards in two concerts accompanied by jazz doyens Samuel Eftimov (piano), Dimitar Sirakov (double bass), Atanas Popov (drums), and Alex Vitkov (trumpet).
Two workshops are also part of the Festival's programme.
Entry is free of charge.
The event is supported by Sofia Municipality - Calendar of Cultural Events. Jazz FM Radio is media partner of the one-day event, the team said.
