Electrohold Trade will supply Nestle Bulgaria with a total of 13,500 MWh of green electricity by the end of 2024. Thanks to the cooperation between the two companies, Nestle Bulgaria will reduce carbon emissions from its operations by 17,550 tons annually, the energy company said in a statement on Wednesday.

"This is a partnership between two leaders in their respective sectors that not only benefits Bulgarian society, but also contributes to a greener future for the planet. It is an honour for Electrohold Trade to help Nestle Bulgaria achieve its sustainable development goals," said Krastyu Ikonomov, director of corporate sales and projects at Electrohold Trade, when presenting a green certificate to Petar Stoilov, CEO of Nestle Bulgaria.

The certificate is based on guarantees of origin issued by the Sustainable Energy Development Agency. It guarantees that the 13,500 MWh of electricity that Nestle Bulgaria will use in 2024 is 100% produced from renewable sources, the release said, adding that Nestle's long-term global commitment is to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
