The River of Troyan Festival will open with a lecture about rivers, a concert and a film screening on August 22 and will be on until August 23, Marin Markovski from the organizers told BTA on Friday.

"Festivals with a similar focus are organized in several Bulgarian cities. What distinguishes the Troyan edition is its unification with creative workshops for young specialists and students of design, architecture and art in the nearby village of Belish", Markovski emphasized, adding that the creative is called Gore/Dolu (Up/Down) Fest. The Gore (Up) part of the event takes place a few kilometers from Troyan, in the Belish Residence located in the village of Belish. The area of ​​the river park next to the pedestrian bridge over the Osam River in Troyan is the Dolu (Down) space.

The lecture will be held by Ivo Anev, after which a screening of the film Middle Earth will be organized and a concert by Jesus Angelov will be held. The musical programme for the evening will end with DJ SKRUGI.

On August 23, the citizens and guests of Troyan will be able to visit workshops on calligraphy, woodcarving, making silver jewelry and many more. A screening of the film The Rivers of Sofia will be shown as well, and there will be an exhibition, more lectures related to the development of the river, as well as a demonstration of glassworking.

The organizers of the two-day festival are the Belish Association, the Kolektivat Foundation and the Troyan Municipality.
