site.btaVarna to Celebrate Its Holiday with Series of Events August 15-17

A rich and diverse festive programme on the occasion of the City Holiday of Varna (August 15) is being prepared by the municipal authorities for the period from August 15 to 17, acting Varna Mayor Pavel Popov said on Tuesday, as quoted by the local government in a press release.

The holiday will begin with a solemn liturgy for the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which will be celebrated in the Varna Cathedral at 8:30 AM on August 15. A pop music concert that evening will feature world-famous artist DJ BoBo, as well as DJ FABRIZIO PARISI & TIMAS, DARA, GERY-NIKOL and VENZY. It will be held on the Pantheon stage in the Sea Garden. The programme also includes a laser-multimedia show and festive fireworks at 11:00 p.m. 

The Pantheon stage will gather fans of contemporary music again on August 16, when well-known Varna performers Atanas Kolev, Boro Parvi, Tino and Atanas Kateliev, among many others, will take to the stage. The Summer Theatre will host more outdoor concerts by Valya Balkanska, Trio Fida, the Varna Folklore Ensemble and other performers.

Many diverse events are planned at various other locations in Varna, including a show at the Rakovina stage, the 25th Cor Caroli International Sailing Regatta and the 23rd International Print Biennial. Admission to all events is free.
