site.btaMariana Boyadzhieva of BSP-United Left: BTA Report Shows Commitment to Transparency, Cultural Heritage, International Cooperation

In her words, BTA's report for 2024, presented by Director General Kiril Valchev, sparked a very informative and extremely positive discussion during its discussion in the parliamentary Culture and Media Committee. "The reason for this is that during this period the Agency has worked ambitiously, innovatively and with a drive to achieve the strategic goals of the BTA's future agenda," the MP said.
In her words, BTA's report reflects significant progress in modernization, international cooperation and the Agency's financial stability, so it is worth noting a few important points from the lengthy report as presented to the Culture and Media Committee. She listed the increase in publications by nearly 63% in a year as a result of the expansion of BTA's network and team, the free access to all of BTA's information products on its website, the Agency's presence on seven social networks, and BTA's financial support for education and external training of its staff.
"The proof of BTA's freedom and independence is its equal participation in the club of the most developed news agencies in the world. BTA's international cooperation has been strengthened. They continue to develop as a true bridge between all Bulgarians around the world," Boyadzhieva said further.
"I would also like to mention one of BTA's most impressive decisions related to the restoration of the LIK magazine. It is especially noteworthy that the Agency created a new typeface, which is based on the letters of the disciples of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, but in addition they made it available for free use by all public institutions in Bulgaria," the Socialist MP noted.
She also noted BTA's initiative with the Bulgarian National Television and the Bulgarian National Radio, 14 Centuries Bulgaria in Europe, aimed at celebrating significant anniversaries in Bulgarian history that are also important for European history. The Bulgarian News Agency has also taken the initiative to place memorial plaques to famous Bulgarian journalists, Boyadzhieva added.
