This year’s edition of Sofia Art Fair will be held at Sofia Tech Park from October 2 to 5 under the theme Imagine, the organizers said. 

"The fair will feature an impressive lineup of galleries with a strong  international representation, curated projects and special events designed to deepen engagement with the contemporary art market,” the organizers added.

They noted that Sofia Art Fair aims to position Bulgaria on the global cultural map by providing a solid platform for both Bulgarian and international contemporary artists. "Following a thorough review of all applicants, the jury takes into account criteria such as artistic merit, innovation and cultural relevance to attract galleries that help shape the standards of contemporary art in their geographical regions.

The fair will welcome participants from Bulgaria, France, the Netherlands, Hungary, Latvia, Italy, Spain, Romania, Austria, the Czech Republic, Georgia, and Azerbaijan, among others. 

Sofia Art Fair is the first contemporary art exhibition in Bulgaria, founded with the mission of bringing the country to the forefront of the global art scene. The inaugural edition in 2024 attracted over 4,000 visitors and featured 29 galleries and collectives, and presented more than 90 artists. The organizers noted that 90% of exhibitors made sales, highlighting the clear demand for such a platform in Bulgaria. The exhibition fosters international cultural exchange through initiatives such as SAF Talks, a program that includes panels, lectures and professional networking events. In its debut year, SAF Talks drew over 1,100 viewers and participants, the press release added.
