Six Books Shortlisted for Bulgarian Novel of the Year

The 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund has announced the six finalists for its annual Bulgarian Novel of the Year award.

This year’s shortlisted novels are: You, My Likeness by Radoslav Bimbalov, Death and the Gardener by Georgi Gospodinov, Theseus in His Labyrinth. The Diary of a P. by Krasimir Dimovski, Tangerines at Marienplatz by Tea Moneva, Side Lighting by Yuriy Rahnev, Murder on Stamboliyski Boulevard by Chavdar Tsenov.

The books were selected by a jury chaired by literary scholar Vladimir Zarev.

The award ceremony will take place on May 19 at the Sofia City Art Gallery.

Gospodinov's Death and the Gardener has already been translated in English and is due for release by the W&N publishers July 10, 2025.
