An exhibition entitled Istina Beshe... (It Was True...) with works by artists Lili Chausheva and Mihail Chaushev will be unveiled here at the gallery of the Union of Bulgarian Artists here on March 26, the organizers reported.

The curator of the exhibition, Stefan Churchuliev, said that Mihail's monumental works both complement and seek the aesthetic image of his time. Churchuliev called Lili's art bold and fragile in nature. "Her textile panels are strong and devoid of cliché," he added.

Lili Chausheva was born in Sofia in 1939. She graduated from the National Academy of Art in 1965 in Sofia, with a major in painting. Between 1970 and 1989, she worked in the field of decorative and monumental arts and decorative and monumental textiles. Her textile panels are present in collections around the world.

Mihail Chaushev (1933-1990) was born in the village of Biser, South Central Bulgaria. In 1965 he graduated from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, with a major in painting. He has created decorative and monumental art using stone and metal. He is a recipient of the Order of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Second class.
