site.btaFunding Secured for Heating Allowances for Nearly 346,000 People

The Government Tuesday approved internal changes in the expenditures by policy areas and budget programmes under the 2025 budget of the Labour and Social Policy Ministry. The aim is to ensure adequate funding for heating allowances.

Labour and Social Policy Minister Borislav Gutsanov has ordered a 9.6% year-on-year increase in the allowance to BGN 606.70 for the entire heating season (BGN 121.34 per month) between November 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026.

An estimated 345,900 individuals and families are expected to receive this amount, with the total funds required for its payment projected to exceed BGN 215 million.

The additional financial resources will be secured through reallocations within the approved expenditures under the Ministry's 2025 budget.
