A Knitting and Embroidery Day was held here on Saturday, bringing together master knitters from Dimitrovgrad Municipality and Southern Bulgaria. The competition was held for the nineth consecutive year on the occasion of Worldwide Knit in Public Day. It was organized by the local community centre, Prosveta 1926.
Around 30 women presented in the village's park their knitted works: socks, hats, clothes, toys, decorations, tablecloths, and tapestries. They were assessed by a jury, and the winners received awards.
Among the exhibits was a huge knitted sock - 4.1 metres long and 52 cm high - that was made by the locals for the 2019 competition.
Alongside the knitting competition, there was a competition for old urban songs. Nearly 200 amateur singers from across Bulgaria demonstrated their talent in the genre.
