The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) welcomed its fifth generation of interns at an event in the MaxiM Hall on Thursday, which also marked the second anniversary of the agency’s BTA School bulletin. The reception was held under the Education Ministry’s From Higher Education to Employment programme.

BTA Director General Kiril Valchev greeted the new interns, voicing hope that many of them would remain at the agency. The event brought together the newcomers, their mentors, as well as contributors and interviewees from the bulletin’s Faces section, one of 12 sections in the publication, which is freely accessible on BTA’s website. The celebration coincided with International Volunteer Day, a fitting symbol of the spirit behind BTA School.

The programme was hosted by Rumena Mladenova, workforce development specialist and editor of the bulletin, and Theodora Lubenova, an intern in BTA’s English Service Directorate. They presented the work, mission, and atmosphere of the BTA School department.

Since its launch, the trainee bulletin has published nearly 140 materials, covering topics ranging from history and archival work to media literacy and human-interest stories.
