site.btaTargovishte Teen Places Second in Sanremo Junior 2023
Twelve-year-old Eda Alieva of the New Voices Music School in Targovishte, Northeastern Bulgaria, won the Second Prize in the Sanremo Junior 2023 song competition held from May 1 to 6. This is the first time a Bulgarian has won an award in the renowned international event, her musical pedagogue, Desislava Stankova, told BTA.
Singers from 21 countries aged 6-15 competed on the Teatro Ariston stage, traditionally accompanied by the Sanremo Junior Orchestra with conductor Alexander Scaglioni, Stankova said.
Eda Alieva, with whom Stankova has been working for four years now, sang Stevie Wonder's "Faith".
Paolo Alberti is the founder and President of SanremoJunior, SanremoSenior and Kismet Sanremo.
The international competition is organized under the auspices of Sanremo Municipality, UNICEF and UNESCO.
