Geraldine Chaplin will be a special guest at Sofia Film Festival where she will present Jessica Woodworth's movie Luka and will receive the Sofia Municipality Award, announced Art Fest. After her two roles in The Barefoot Emperor, Chaplin plays the General in Luka - her second project under the Golden Lion winning director.

She gave an exclusive interview about the first one for BTA in November.

Luka had a world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and provoked both the audience and the critics at the event. It is inspired by Dino Buzzati's book The Tartar Steppe

Everything in this novel is so clear and at the same time somehow mysterious, Woodworth said. She also said that the thing she love the most about it is the specific type of humor. She also said that the concept as a whole is dim, but it's mixed with absurdity which she finds appealing.

Geraldine Chaplin is the only woman in the movie. The Bulgarian actor Valentin Ganev is playing one of the main characters. He's not the only Bulgarian in the cast as Sabina Hristova participates in the project as a scenic artist and Eka Bichinashvili joins as a costume designer. Art Fest is co-producer and the funding is provided by the National Film Center.
