site.btaParliament Appoints Audit Commission to Review Annual Financial Statements of National Audit Office for 2022, 2023 and 2024

The National Assembly appointed on Wednesday a commission to audit the annual financial statements of the Bulgarian National Audit Office for 2022, 2023, and 2024.

The decision was in compliance with the requirement of the National Audit Office Act that the annual financial statements of the National Audit Office shall be audited by an independent panel comprising at least two registered auditors. The members of the panel and their number shall be determined by the National Assembly, the Act states.

The commission consists of eleven members, including representatives from all parliamentary groups, as well as two registered auditors. Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria MP Martin Dimitrov chairs the commission, its members are: Stanislav Ivanov from GERB-UDF, Dimo Drenchev from Vazrazhdane, Elvan Gyurkash from MRF - New Beginning, Atanas Atanasov from BSP - United Left, Mehmed Salim from Alliance for Rights and Freedoms, Snezhanka Trayanska from There Is Such a People, Krasimir Manov from MECh, and Maria Ilieva from Velichie, as well as two registered auditors, Asen Kitov and Marian Nikolov.

The appointed commission shall prepare a report to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration within three months of the date of commencement of its work, together with the reports on the activities of the National Audit Office for 2022, 2023, and 2024.
