Speaking in Parliament's lobby on Wednesday, Velichie leader Ivelin Mihaylov said that getting GERB leader Boyko Borissov and MRF-New Beginning leader Delyan Peevski out of power would be "the way out of the waste crisis in Sofia - and any other crisis". "I urge Yes, Bulgaria! to stop citing Taki [an alias of the controversial businessman Hristoforos Amanatidis], as he is merely a contractor, while Borissov and Peevski are the contractees." Mihaylov said that Sofia Mayor Vassil Terziev is a victim and deserves the support of Sofianites.
Commenting on a Wall Street Journal article about a meeting between Borissov and Donald Trump Jr., Mihaylov said that the GERB leader had traded national interests - strategic assets for Bulgaria - for the sake of people sanctioned under the Magnitsky Act.
Mihaylov noted that, as an entrepreneur, he had been put in a position where Borissov tried to blackmail him in favour of external interests. “He summoned me to the GERB headquarters in the spring of 2023 to tell me that wind-turbine blades had to be installed in the Vetrino municipality because the Serbian prime minister had asked him to do so,” the Velichie leader said, adding that he refused to do it.
"Delyan Peevski is not the one pulling the strings from the shadows. Boyko Borissov is. Delyan Peevski knows he cannot conduct foreign policy or deal with foreign diplomats as they would be tainted if they worked with him, and he knows that. That is why he has accepted the role of a scarecrow, so Borissov could reduce things to the tragic state they are currently in and pin it on Rosen Zhelyazkov. Zhelyazkov had to fall so Borisov could emerge as the savior,” Mihaylov added.
