site.btaPolice Detains Ukrainian Driver after Car Ends Up on Children’s Playground in Nessebar

A Ukrainian national was detained after driving his car onto a children’s playground in the Sunny Fort complex in Nessebar, the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry said on Wednesday.

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nessebar Regional Police Precinct received a report of an intoxicated driver who had parked a vehicle in a play area. Officers identified the driver as a Ukrainian man, who showed a blood alcohol concentration of 2.82‰.

The driver was taken into custody for up to 24 hours and the car was seized. Fast-track police proceedings have been initiated.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The Ukrainian citizen has temporary protection status, according to the statement.
