“I strongly disagree with the allegations that I am sabotaging the work of the government,” said President Rumen Radev to journalists on Monday after viewing artifacts from the ancient city of Heraclea Sintica at the National Archaeological Museum.

“How am I sabotaging them, when at the beginning of the year I managed to persuade a strategic investor like Rheinmetall, an investor the current government can only dream of, not only to visit Bulgaria but also to invest significant financial resources and cutting-edge technologies in our defence industry? Today, they are in Germany working on this investment, which I secured as a gift for the government,” said the head of state.

“At the same time, they claim I’m sabotaging them. I am doing this and will continue to do it for our country, regardless of who the government is or whether it is compromised,” Radev added.
