The Constitution and laws provide for joint competence on certain issues, and this has had varying results over the years, showing that when there is political opposition, the powers that are jointly held by the head of State and the Government suffer as a result, National Assembly Chair Nataliya Kiselova told reporters in Petrova niva, Southeast Bulgaria, about the lack of an appointed chair of the State Agency for National Security and an Interior Ministry Secretary General.

When asked whether legislative changes would be a solution to appoint a people on those positions without the President's signature, Kiselova replied that the National Assembly is the place to discuss these issues. "Discussions on social media and Facebook are not a solution. There is a procedure for discussing these issues. The National Assembly is a good platform for discussing them," she said.

She participated in the commemoration of the 122nd anniversary of the Ilinden-Preobrazhenie Uprising in the historic Petrov Niva area. The celebration was held under the patronage of the head of State Rumen Radev.
