The 21st Congress of the Union of European Foresters will take place from September 11 to 14 in Ruse, the city's Deputy Mayor Zlatomira Stefanova said on Tuesday after a meeting with Prof. Dr. Ivan Paligorov, Chair of the Union of Foresters in Bulgaria.
Fifty participants from twelve European countries are expected to participate in the forum. The Danube city is fully prepared to host the participants in the congress and provide all the necessary conditions for the event. "We look forward to showing the hospitality and rich cultural heritage of our city. Ruse has always been a centre of significant initiatives and we believe that we will leave lasting and positive impressions on our guests," Stefanova noted.
A side event of the congress will be the scientific and practical conference on the conservation of biodiversity in the Ludogorie and Dobrudzha in the context of climate change. Nearly fifty representatives of Bulgarian ministries, state agencies and other state institutions will also participate in the discussions. "We all see how the trees dry up and we ask ourselves what we are doing. It is time for decisive action," Paligorov stressed.
