Two people were injured and damage to civilian infrastructure was reported in Ukraine’s Izmail district following a drone attack last night, the district administration said.

The Operational Headquarters of the Izmail District State Administration in Odesa region reported on Facebook that two people were injured and civilian infrastructure was damaged during the overnight drone strikes in the Izmail district.

“Once again, our district was subjected to a massive attack. Despite the effective work of air-defense forces, damage was inflicted on the facades, roofs, and windows of administrative buildings, as well as on a parking area where 11 trucks were damaged,” the headquarters said in its statement.

All emergency services are currently working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

More than 150,000 ethnic Bulgarians live in the Odesa region, making them the third-largest ethnic group according to the latest official census in Ukraine. In the city of Odesa itself, around 50,000–60,000 Bulgarians reside. The largest compact Bulgarian communities are concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail, and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
