The Interior Ministry has initiated coordination procedures with the President's Office regarding the appointment of a Secretary General, but has not yet received a response, Interior Minister Daniel Mitov said during a hearing before the National Assembly’s Internal Security and Public Order Committee.
Mitov noted that a formal written proposal has also been submitted to the President. Currently, the position is held on an acting basis by Miroslav Rashkov.
On June 27, President Rumen Radev, in response to a question about the government's nomination for the post, said that he would announce his decision in the near future.
