There is no immediate danger to the lives of the eight elderly individuals who were rescued from illegal nursing homes in the village of Yagoda, Maglizh Municipality, and later admitted to the hospital in Stara Zagora, hospital director Prof. Dr. Yovcho Yovchev told BTA on Saturday.

“All of them are currently stabilized. At this time, none of the patients are in life-threatening condition,” Prof. Yovchev confirmed.

The doctor explained that each of the patients has undergone treatment for dehydration and malnutrition. “Some of them are receiving cardiological therapy due to severe heart failure,” Prof. Yovchev added.

A total of 75 individuals have been discovered in two illegally operating nursing homes in the village of Yagoda, near Maglizh in the Stara Zagora region, Justice Minister Georgi Georgiev told reporters at a news briefing at the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Stara Zagora earlier on Saturday.
