Bulgaria’s Health Ministry has issued a warning about fraudulent online advertisements that misuse the institution’s name, logo, and the image and voice of Chief Health Inspector Angel Kunchev and other public figures - without their consent.

The Ministry emphasized that it does not promote, recommend, or participate in any activities related to the sale of health products, supplements, or miracle cures. Such ads are deceptive and aim to mislead consumers for profit through illegal practices, the statement goes.

All confirmed cases are being reported to the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime for investigation. The public is urged to avoid suspicious online ads, refrain from sharing personal data, and not to order products falsely claiming endorsement by health authorities.

The warning comes amid rising concerns, as the Consumer Protection Commission revealed late last year that fake websites selling “miracle” products are making millions, particularly through fast-disappearing social media posts.
