site.btaVelichie's Ivelin Mihaylov on Chakarov's Move: "That’s a Fairy Tale for Children, Not Adults"

"Dzhevdet Chakarov suddenly goes alone to Delyan Peevski - this may be a fairy tale for little children, but not for grown-ups," said Velichie party leader Ivelin Mihaylov on Wednesday, commenting to journalists on the situation with the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) and Chakarov’s resignation as party chair. "We all know how things work in Bulgaria - Delyan Peevski puts pressure on people," Mihaylov claimed.
He said that a similar incident had happened in Velichie as well. "I received threats - Colonel Markov came and threatened me on behalf of Delyan Peevski, saying I’d be sent to prison for influencing an MP," Mihaylov stated.
According to him, the State is not addressing key issues, pointing out that despite numerous reports, no action has been taken on waste management in municipalities.
Asked about tensions with Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov, Mihaylov replied: "There can be no tension between an ant and a boot." He also demanded that the Vazrazhdane leader stop referring to him as "the Pharaoh [referring to allegations that Mihaylov was the mastermind of a pyramid scheme]." "I’m Orthodox - better to be called a tsar," Mihaylov added.
Commenting on the upcoming protest on Saturday against Bulgaria’s adoption of the euro, Mihaylov remarked, "If their [Vazrazhdane's] protest on May 31 fails to stop [Bulgaria's] entry into the eurozone, Vazrazhdane is probably ready to set themselves on fire." Mihaylov was referring to a protest in February against the euro's adoption, organized by Vazrazhdane, when nine people were detained after protesters stormed the building of the European Commission in Sofia and set the entrance on fire.
