Chernomorets Beach Hut, on the Black Sea, received its third Blue Flag Award in 2025. Stanko Stoyanov who represents the concessionaire told BTA that their goal is to have all man-made objects on the beach be made of natural materials to blend in with the beauty of the surrounding nature.

Stoyanov pointed out that beach parasols are covered with straw. As of 2025, most of the lounge chairs are now made of wood rather than plastic. Special walkways have been installed to make the beach accessible to people with disabilities.

According to Stoyanov, receiving the Blue Flag is both a source of prestige and an obligation. While it is easy to meet the traditional requirements – having a clean beach with bins for separate garbage collection, providing lifeguards and medical services – the biggest challenge is to preserve the nature and to fit everything into the overall picture, so that the beach remains beautiful and attractive to tourists.

BTA is presenting all 30 Bulgarian beaches and harbours awarded the Blue Flag by the international jury of the Programme in Copenhagen. It is the 30th anniversary of the first award for the country - the pilot Blue Flag was raised on Sunny Beach on July 4, 1995.
