President Rumen Radev congratulated the newly elected President of Romania, Nicusor Dan. “I look forward to working together to further strengthen good neighbourly relations and the strategic partnership between our two countries, members of the EU and NATO,” Rumen Radev wrote in the X social network. 

The independent candidate for President of Romania, Nicusor Dan, received 6,168,642 votes or 53.60% in the second round of the presidential elections, indicated final data of the Permanent Electoral Body after processing all protocols from the polling stations. In second place is the candidate of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians, George Simion, who received 5,339,053 votes or 46.40%. The voter turnout in the second round of the presidential elections in Romania was 64.7%. Over 11,507,695 Romanians exercised their right to vote.
